The area measured is the total GIFA of the building.
Installations for residential units, hotel rooms, student accommodation units, etc. may be enumerated (nr). The type of residential unit or room, and size (by number of bedrooms) of unit, is to be stated.
Work to existing buildings is to be described and identified separately.
Where the contractor is only responsible for designing specific elements and/or components of the building project (i.e. not the entire building project), contractor-designed work is to be described and identified separately.
The percentage additions for testing and commissioning are to be applied to the total cost of the items comprising the sub-element. A single combined percentage addition can be applied to cover the costs of both testing and commissioning.

Distribution pipelines from mains connection point within building to user points, including pipeline ancillaries and fittings.
Pipeline components/ancillaries (e.g. valves and pumps).
